In celebrating Labor Day during the height of World War II, Adele Nathan focused on Weirton Steel’s “part in the job of winning the War,” and “in so far as is possible on stage and screen, the Pageant portrays the grim realities of war and calls upon the Home Front to do its part to bring victory.” To that end, the Pageant was performed twice, so that “all Weirton may attend and still not slow the production of steel for victory.”
